A crossover of our two most successful amps' preamp circuit, the Sludge and the Warthog. 2x12ax7 well protected inside the cast alu enclosure. Plug it into the fx return or the clean channel of any amp and it delivers that dynamic, rich, responsive yet crushing tone our amps are known for. Bonus 1: footswitchable lead boost for those shedding solos to cut though the mix. Adds extra mids and gain. Bonus 2: runs on 12VDC 1A center negative standard supply, the B+ is made with internal charge pump. Bonus 3: the high voltage, high headroom, transparent output buffer is always in the signal path, so even in bypass mode there will be no signal loss no matter the cable lenght you run after it. Everyone knows old @laneyamplification amps have a Everyone knows old @laneyamplification amps have a special place in my heart. By deafault they have that superbass'ish circuit with a jtm'ish 6k6 (half that for 100w models) OT. A lil sluggish for my preference but i like the taste of it. I usually remove that with a few simple mods, the result is a much clearer, faster sound. Worked very well on this combo too. It was in terrible shape, a rewound PT with broken connections, a lot of KGST components butchered in (quite common on this side of the iron curtain), and missing pieces in the frame, rusted, cross threaded, broken screws. Well, not anymore, all filter caps replaced, coupling caps replaced with vintage correct ones, replaced the missing pieces of the back frame, and replaced literally all wood screws, patched up their worn out holes. Okay so i took on 2 of the most oddball Marshall c Okay so i took on 2 of the most oddball Marshall circuits for modding...well because i make irresponsible life choices, but like the challange too. The TSL - as you can hear from the little clip - was made to be closer to the classic sounds, but adding the Kaos mojo at the same time, had to think a bit on the solution, but turned out quite nice. The 2210...oh boy. That circuit is no friend of mine, so decided to do a full preamp rebuild, restructuring the master volume where it should be (between the loop and PI), and installing a 3 gain stage circuit similar to our Rock Series amps. I don't have a clip of this, but listen to the F!30 sample a few posts back and you'll get the hang of it! See last picture for it s original appereance. Cleans up pretty well huh? Meet Stubby Bob, the touring 212! I always stress Meet Stubby Bob, the touring 212! I always stress (but not enough) the need for cabs on stage even with IEMs and modelers, especially at smaller venues where are no front fills, so the front rows just see the band as mime artists to the drummer, and that poor 1-3 top speaker struggles translating all of the instruments in the mid-high sector. So this is a lighter weight, but braced construction cab with recalculated dimensions. Tall enough to be heard, we made the baffle disperse the sound better, and deep enough (35 cm) for adequate internal volume, and not least it provides more stable foundation in the tour bus tetris to stack your stuff upon, than the usual 20 something cabs.
