Have you ever heard the term "Taking the edge off?" I'm sure you are. And it is pretty much a good thing every single time.
So why not take the edge off your digitally generated guitar sound? Modelers are great and versatile tools, but they lack the real deal that defines we all like: tube and iron aka transformer. The magic in all the records we listen and love. So we created this little device that can add that mojo, round off the edges, and add those harmonics while taking out the harsh parts.
Inside is a 12xx7 tube (can use at ax au), and a transformer driven xlr symmetric output, that you can pad back with a pot, to run hotter. A line level TS out is incorporated too without the tx.
Other two features:
--line / instrument switch: not just attenuates the signal in line mode, but reconfigures the gain control to run after the tube stage in instrument mode. Tis way you can use the device before the modeler as a tube preamp and also as a tube DI box.
--3 way drive switch: off/highmid+treble/full freq boost, pretty self explaining.

All fed from a 12VDC power supply that feeds the tube heaters and the internal charge pump for the 250VDC proper B+

First major redesign of the RTS tube booster/OD.
Signal path only had minor corrections, has the same Kaosamp mojo as before, let it be tightening up the low end or boosting a classic tube amp into oblivion while keeping it tight, or adding analog magic to digital rigs.
Ditched the second ++ foostswich since everybody used one or the other mode permanently, so toggle switch it is, and this way we have more room for an improved internal power supply.
And yes, the 12ax7 tube is still inside of course.

Tubes and iron are the real deal though still. Thats why we offer the built in dummy load and line out mods not just to our, but to virtually any tube amp, so with a quality IR you can still enjoy the TONE you got used to playing through the cabinet as the signal is taken from the output transformer.

Our footswichable 2nd master volume mod can be added to any amp, this time it was a TSL 60. It comes handy in this model since the FX loop seats in the middle of the preamp not between the pre and power amp, so volume boost can't be achieved with anything put there.

-adding extra tube for a cathode follower to drive the tone stack, and for a real tube fx loop
-master volume
-feedback/depth pot
-changing SMD plate and cathode resistors to THT

Kissé elérzékenyülök mindig mikor a Protone erősítők, vagyis megalkotójuk, Lőcincz Attila kerül szóba. Nem csak a hazai csöves erősítős élet meghatározó alakja volt, hanem minket is ellátott trafókkal, hardverekkel, és önzetlenül jótanácsokkal, alkatrészekkel több, mint egy évtizedig, mielőtt elvesztette a harcot a rákkal szemben.
Ezért mindig kiemelkedő tisztelettel fordulok minden általa készített erősítő felé, ami a kezeim közé kerül. Ez is egy inkább midgain darab volt, ami most egy komplett új HatreD előfokot, valamint beépített 150 wattos műterhelést és line outot kapott IR-es otthoni felvételekhez.
Az előlapi layoutot meghagyva a tiszta megmaradt non-masteres jellegű egy bright kapcsolóval, a maradék 3 pedig a torz csatihoz tartozó BITE és BODY ill an NFB/DEPTH, így a lead csati klasszik heavy metaltól modern lehangolt láncfűrészelésig bármire alkalmas lett.
Remélem, hogy segítettem ennek a darabnak is tovább élni.

The creator of Protone amplifiers Attila Lőrincz was a prominent member of the tube amp community here in Hungary. He supplied us with transformers and hardware for more than a decade until he lost the battle with cancer.
His kind-, and selflessness was unparalleled and helped many of us in need, so i take utmost respect every time one of his creations crosses my path.
This one was a midgain amp and as per the customer's request got a complete new HatreD preamp section with BITE and BODY switches, NFB/DEPTH switch in the power amp, and a 150W built in dummy load with line out for standalone IR based recording, giving the amp new life and new purpose to live on.

--Powder coated and laser engraved enclosure.
--2x12ax7 tubes inside running on high plate voltage provided by the internal charge pump
--runs on 12VDC center negative power supply (included)
--BOOST function adds mids and gain for solos to cut through the mix both on recording or on stage
--Even bypassed a high voltage operated power FET high headroom buffer is still active, so no signal degradation occures when the unit is in the signal path, switched on or off.

My friend Ralph D has this Feral and thought about updating, modding it a little. So we got rid of the freq switches in the power amp (presence and resonance) stuck to the preferred value, converted to BITE BODY GAIN switches in the preamp, got a new blacked out 5mm thick alu faceplate tombstone tyle, and a new, laser engraved alu conrol plate under the pots. Previous style on the 3rd photo.

Since we already build a few of these in the last

Since we already build a few of these in the last 12 months and i didn t made a proper introduction (that is totally my fault), and the Scarface amp pops up here and there so here we go, the Kaosamp Scarface.
Designing this amp i thought about a minimalistic, pure as possible approach to rock/metal guitar tones. Shortest signal path as possible, but incorporating unusual methods, solutions.
Clean channel...well, cleaner channel, is plexi style, you can roll it to clean with your fingertips on your guitar's pots, but you can play classic rock on it too.
The lead channel is a crossover between the hatred/sludge/warthog circuits, keeping it nice and saturated to play it any style (bite and body switches included), heavy overdrive but still not super mega higain, so train your picking hand! (:
Another twist is in the power amp section. That we kept clean, organic, no NFB at all, and utilized an active PI tail for perfect balancing of the push-pull output section's push and pull parts. 6550 tubes for that headroom.
It lives and breathes as you play.
Well, pretty much that's it, who's gonna be the first one ordering with a custom Tony Montana faceplate?
