Okay so i took on 2 of the most oddball Marshall c Okay so i took on 2 of the most oddball Marshall circuits for modding...well because i make irresponsible life choices, but like the challange too. The TSL - as you can hear from the little clip - was made to be closer to the classic sounds, but adding the Kaos mojo at the same time, had to think a bit on the solution, but turned out quite nice. The 2210...oh boy. That circuit is no friend of mine, so decided to do a full preamp rebuild, restructuring the master volume where it should be (between the loop and PI), and installing a 3 gain stage circuit similar to our Rock Series amps. I don't have a clip of this, but listen to the F!30 sample a few posts back and you'll get the hang of it! See last picture for it s original appereance. Cleans up pretty well huh? Meet Stubby Bob, the touring 212! I always stress Meet Stubby Bob, the touring 212! I always stress (but not enough) the need for cabs on stage even with IEMs and modelers, especially at smaller venues where are no front fills, so the front rows just see the band as mime artists to the drummer, and that poor 1-3 top speaker struggles translating all of the instruments in the mid-high sector. So this is a lighter weight, but braced construction cab with recalculated dimensions. Tall enough to be heard, we made the baffle disperse the sound better, and deep enough (35 cm) for adequate internal volume, and not least it provides more stable foundation in the tour bus tetris to stack your stuff upon, than the usual 20 something cabs. So as I promised to share interesring and vintage So as I promised to share interesring and vintage amps that cross my path, here we go again: The @laneyamplification Supergroup 60 came in for a single purpose: make it the best non-master style amp it can be! (these "do as you please to make it outstanding" jobs are the most exciting ). After the usual retube and recap, we gave a circuit a little massage to accept the KAOS mojo: increased picking dynamic and guitar vol pot response, a touch of more gain, a bit less "hair" in the sound. Turned out stellar, swipe for the video, @gibsonguitar LP straight into the amp! The chassis has been upgraded with M6 sheet metal nuts and the backside's woodwork has been redone too for secure fastening. The cute small green gem is a @framusguitarsofficial Solo amp from 1950's! 3w pocket amp from 70 years ago, how cool is that? Cap/tube job, relocating the volume control from the input to between stages, and got a speaker out jack. How does it sounds on a 4x12? Swipe till the end to find out.
